RPC Matters Newsletter

The Challenge
Translation Services
Proofreading Services

An ongoing collaboration with many stakeholders involved.

https://www.rpc-group.com/media/rpc-matters

A quarterly newsletter translated into French, Polish and Spanish for one of Freeman Williams’ clients in the PR sector. The newsletter is distributed to customers of the end-client, RPC Group – a leading global design and engineering company in plastic products

Timescales – In order for the content to be as relevant and up-to-date as possible, the final English layout is produced close to our client’s print deadline. Our client therefore prefers to send the files for translation in batches so as to avoid a bottleneck or rush at the print stage.

Project Management – This can lead to amendments later in the process as stories are finalised. A dedicated Project Manager tracks all amendments in a tracking system, tailored to the client’s way of working, to avoid any oversights.

Terminology – We work closely with our translators on any queries they might have regarding RPC products and provide further images or explanations where possible for clarification. Any queries raised are incorporated into the tracking system and the query answers are distributed to all translators involved, ensuring consistency across our translations.

Review – The timeline for these translations includes a review by the end-client’s dedicated reviewers who are able to provide their feedback on the translations and include any stylistic preferences. The reviewed files are then looked at again by our translators who are able to take on any feedback for future reference and finalise the files for typesetting.

Typesetting – The client uses their own designer and typesetter but we are happy to work in collaboration with this third party. We arrange for our translators to review the typeset translated PDFs against the typeset English PDF and mark up any inconsistencies they might find. If necessary, we will check any amends made to the typesetting once again, to be sure that the translated newsletters are publication ready.

RPC Group has recently been acquired by US company Berry Global and we are currently supplying translations for a new version of this newsletter.

“Freeman Williams provides a very professional and efficient service and the quality of their work is always good. Most importantly, given the tight deadlines we have to work to, the company is quick to respond with a fast turnaround of translations.”
